Product Care Guide

County Range

Avoid strong direct sunlight. Avoid damp or wet conditions to prevent damage to the leather pelt. Brush regularly to help maintain and bring out the best in the wool fibres. Small stains and light soiling can be spot cleaned with a clean damp cloth and diluted sheepskin shampoo. Hand or machine wash in cool water (30°C) using a suitable sheepskin shampoo (some wool detergents contain phosphates and alkalis which can damage and stiffen the pelt). Machine wash on a gentle wool cycle. Please note, machine or hand washing may affect the appearance of the natural wool fibres and the leather pelt. We recommend shaking and brushing before washing to reduce the risk of tangles. After washing, while still wet brush with either a wire wool brush or comb to help restore its appearance and lift fibres. Dry flat where possible and gently stretch the leather during drying to aid flexibility when dry. For more thorough cleaning we recommend you consult your nearest specialist cleaners.

Goatskin

Avoid extreme heat like fires, radiators, underfloor heating and conservatories.  Goatskin Rugs are for light use only.  Avoid damp or wet conditions to prevent damage, do not wash.  Brush frequently with a stiff rug brush and shake out daily.  Dry clean if required (check with your chosen specialist dry cleaner). Small spills should be moped up quickly and a mild diluted detergent used, do not allow the hide to get too wet.  If the hide gets wet make sure you dry it naturally away from any heat source.  Dry outside if possible, out of direct sunlight and flat.

Product Care

All of our hides are Eco-tanned with the environment in mind, that means there is no chrome or bleaches used in the tanning process.  The lanolin in the wool helps make the sheepskin naturally dirt and bacteria resistant.  In most cases a light brush, a good shake and an airing is all they need to keep them looking good.  For cleaning we recommend spot cleaning the wool side only using a sheepskin shampoo (avoid wetting the leather). For heavy soiling or stains we recommend you speak to a specialist cleaner.

Product Care for Eco-tanned baby safe

All of our hides are Eco-tanned with the environment in mind, that means there is no chrome or bleaches used in the tanning process.  The lanolin in the wool helps make the sheepskin naturally dirt and bacteria resistant.  In most cases a light brush, a good shake and an airing is all they need to keep them looking good.  For cleaning we recommend spot cleaning the wool side only using a sheepskin shampoo (avoid wetting the leather).  Check your shampoo is suitable for babies and doesn't contain any harmful chemicals.  For heavy soiling or stains we recommend you speak to a specialist cleaner.

Product Care

Reindeer hide is a unique product, we recommend careful handling.  It is normal for small amounts of fur to detach during the lifetime of the hide.

Avoid sources of heat as this can accelerate the drying of the hide.  Avoid pets using them!  Excessive shaking or rubbing of the hide can cause the hollow fur fibres to crack and shed.  Any liquid spills must be wiped off carefully.  If the leather side gets wet, turn the hide over to dry (wet side upwards) on a horizontal surface if possible.  You can vacuum your hide using the lowest power setting and the dusting brush attachment.  Always follow the direction of the fur.  Anything beyond the above seek specialist cleaning advice.

Safety Instructions

The 2ltr bottle contained in this product conforms to BS1970:2012.

Please read these instructions before use.

Take care when filling this hot water bottle.  Do not use boiling water, fill to a maximum of two-thirds capacity. Hold the bottle by the neck in an upright position and fill slowly to avoid hot water splashing back.  Remove excess air from the bottle by lowering it carefully onto a flat surface until water appears at the opening. Screw the stopper sufficiently tight to ensure that there is no leakage (Finger tight should be adequate).

Do not fill using water from the domestic hot water system as this can prematurely degrade the product.  Prevent the bottle from contact with hot surfaces, oil or grease.

Do not sit or lie on top of the hot water bottle.  Check the bottle and stopper for wear and damage at regular intervals.

When not in use drain completely.  Store with the stopper removed, in a cool, dry, dark place.  Prevent exposure to sunlight. Do not place anything on top of the bottle.

Take care with elderly and children, warm the bed beforehand and remove the bottle before the person gets in.

WARNING

HOT WATER BOTTLES CAN CAUSE BURNS - AVOID PROLONGED DIRECT CONTACT WITH SKIN

STRESSING THE BOTTLE BY OVER BENDING CAN DAMAGE THE RUBBER, ALWAYS CHECK THE BOTTLE BEFORE USE
